MMA legend Kamaru Usman achieved a true feat in the final stretch of his career. In the main event of UFC Oklahoma City, held last Saturday (18), the Nigerian was dominated by Dricus du Plessis and lost by unanimous decision. Curiously, despite the punishment he suffered in the octagon, the former welterweight king (up to 77,1 kg) was rewarded, as he entered the top-15 of the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg) in the weekly update of the 'Meta UFC Rankings', released this Tuesday (21).
Therefore, Usman now remains ranked tenth in the welterweight standings and moves directly to 11th place in the middleweight division. It's worth remembering that the Nigerian has only had two fights in the category and lost both to Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev . Meanwhile, the South African, a former champion who punished the veteran in the octagon, remains number two in the division.
