The history of Mauricio Ruffy The 'Fighting Nerds' team has come to an end. Last Thursday (7), through his official 'Instagram' account, the lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) top fighter announced that he is officially out of the gym. In any case, Ruffy made it clear that there is no problem between him and the main 'Nerds'. On the contrary, the athlete made a point of expressing his gratitude to Pablo Sucupira, leader of the academy and one of the best MMA coaches today, because he believed in his talent and was one of the main people responsible for his evolution as a fighter.

“I am no longer training at Fighting Nerds. I am officially informing you that Ruffy is no longer part of Fighting Nerds. I spoke with Pablo before coming here to talk to you. My relationship with Pablo and the guys is excellent. Pablo is a coach, a brother to me, and will always be a great coach,” said the UFC top fighter.

“We have plans to do a lot of work together, but now in a different way. This doesn't stop me from visiting them, going there, training with them, developing situations with them. Just as Pablo will also be supporting this project of mine. At some point, we know we'll be doing some work together. So, I'm bringing this clarity to you all,” he concluded.

Sucupira's reply

In the same publication, Sucupira commented on the change of direction in Luffy's career. Despite the separation, the coach showed that his relationship with his friend and former student remains good and that he will continue to support him, even though he no longer represents the team.

"Good job, Ruffy. I know you'll continue well on your journey. I'm still rooting for you," the professional wrote.
