In an interview with 'UFC on Paramount', Durinho explained that, at first, he felt like he had abandoned the fight. However, upon reviewing the footage, he realized he was suffering from a concussion, a consequence of the hard blows delivered by his opponent, and concluded that he did not give up on the fight.
“Half of me thought I had given up. Then I watched it again and realized I had a concussion. The guy was hitting me really hard, and he’s huge… It’s okay, I didn’t give up this time,” he said. Gilbert Durinho.
What is a concussion?
A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury caused by impacts or sudden movements to the head, which temporarily affect brain function. It can cause symptoms such as dizziness, confusion, headache, memory loss, and in some cases, fainting, requiring medical attention and an adequate recovery period.
