Even though he's far from the octagon and officially retired, Jon Jones He continues to make headlines. The former UFC light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) and heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) champion made headlines once again after being involved in a traffic dispute last Sunday (5) while driving in New Mexico, the city where he has lived for many years. The final part of the conflict was recorded and posted on social media by Bryan Beltran, who was driving on the other side and was involved in the incident.

In the video, the two vehicles are already parked in a parking lot in a residential area of the city. Beltran gets out of his car and captures Jones approaching, who had just left his pickup truck.
“What’s wrong, man? Are you trying to run me over? You almost ran me over, man! Man, you need to learn how to drive. You almost ran me over with your truck, man. You almost ran me over, man, what the hell is this? In my lane, man, seriously,” he said. In the video, Jones only says that the young man needs to calm down, before showing him the middle finger and returning to his car. According to Beltran, the fighter was armed during the argument.

According to Beltran, Jones had created a collision risk on several occasions. He stated that he didn't recognize the fighter at first and that he would like the opportunity to make peace with Bones in the future.
"Besides, I know that it is the Jon Jones"I didn't know who he was when I flipped him the bird, but I definitely recognized him right away! No hard feelings or hatred towards my friend Jon, but I think he needs some driving lessons because he almost ran me over several times. I hope I can make another video soon where we can shake hands and 'settle things' (laughs)," he stated in an Instagram post.

Hours later, Jones came forward to give his version of the story. According to the former fighter, the man had chased him in his car after the incident in order to intimidate him. Bones said he was proud that he hadn't given in to the man's alleged provocations.
“This boy chased my car for two blocks, revving the engine and trying to intimidate me. I’m glad this happened to me and not to some elderly person in our community. I’m proud of myself for defending myself and not allowing this kind of intimidation,” said the former champion.
