Daniel Cormier makes no secret of his desire to see Alex Pereira share the octagon with Jon Jones in the UFC. Recently, Dana White shook up the MMA scene by announcing that the Brazilian will vacate the light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg), a decision interpreted by fans and experts as an indication of a move up to heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg). In this context, although the community points to Ciryl Gane as the logical opponent for the Brazilian, DC sees his former rival as the ideal name.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Cormier stated that, when analyzing the overall scenario, his main wish is that the confrontation happens between Jones and Pereira, revealing his support and expectation for the duel to take place.

Daniel Cormier 's desire to see Jon Jones as Poatan's opponent in the heavyweight division is possibly linked to the intense rivalry that marked both of their careers.

Jones and Cormier shared the octagon twice, with "Bones" coming out on top both times. In the first fight, he won by unanimous decision. In the rematch, he knocked out DC with a high kick. However, the result of the second fight was later overturned and changed to a no contest after Jon Jones tested positive for a banned substance.
