In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Diaz attached a video of his in-octagon interview at UFC 241. On that occasion, he won. Anthony Pettis by unanimous decision and challenged Jorge masvidal, who was present in the audience. The moment marked the birth of the idea for the BMF belt, which was contested between the two in November 2019, at the 500th event in the organization's history.
