One of the most popular MMA fighters today, Ilia Topuria is not only a target for Arman Tsarukyan . Excited by his victory against Teofimo Lopez in January in New York (USA), Shakur Stevenson, world boxing champion, surprised everyone by opening the doors of the sport to welcome the Georgian.
It all started when YouTuber Adin Ross claimed that UFC is better than boxing and that Ilia Topuria and Jon Jones would be dominant in the ring. The boxing star promptly disagreed and doubted that the MMA legends would succeed in boxing.

Determined to prove his point, the American, undefeated in boxing and brimming with confidence, challenged the UFC lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) to a fight. Interestingly, Topuria revealed that he is considering switching to boxing in the future and is aiming for fights against Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford.
“You have to take back what you said. You said that UFC is better than boxing and that’s not true. There’s no comparison. The skill level is completely different. No way (about Jones being dominant in boxing). Tell him (Topuria) to come fight me,” said the world boxing champion.
Difficult challenge
Despite Stevenson's provocation and his interest in a super fight in boxing, a clash with Topuria is virtually impossible. 'El Matador' has an exclusive contract with the UFC, which prevents him from competing in rival organizations and other combat sports besides grappling. Furthermore, Dana White often forbids his athletes from facing professional boxers in the ring.
