Ian Garry aims to become the number one fighter in the world after defeating Islam Makhachev . In a video posted on his social media, Garry expressed confidence that he will share the octagon with Makhachev and stated that, by defeating the champion, there will be no argument left for him not to be considered the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet.
"When I beat Islam Makhachev and win the world title, there will be no excuses from anyone, anywhere on the planet," the Irishman stated.

After defeating Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322 and becoming the welterweight champion, Islam Makhachev saw a line of potential challengers form, transforming the division into one of the most competitive in the UFC.
