In a video posted on X's 'Red Corner MMA' profile, formerly Twitter, Carlos Prates He made it clear that his main goal is to become UFC champion. The Brazilian stated that Dana White already considers him among the favorites to compete for the company's welterweight (up to 77kg) title.
“Yes, yes. I think the last time, when I was about to fight Leon (Edwards), I asked him (Dana White) that. He said that if I finished Leon in the first round, the belt would come to me. He said that… They asked me to go to the weigh-in, backstage, still with my glasses on. And I just asked him (Dana). He said that if I finished Leon in the first round, the title shot would come to me. I said, 'Seriously?' And he said yes. He said yes, for sure,” he revealed. Carlos Prates in an interview.
