Although the attention of the Brazilian public was focused on the duel between Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley , in the boxing event broadcast by Netflix, the preliminary show, held last Friday (19), brought a bitter memory to Brazilian fans. In the second fight of the night, Avious Griffin needed only one round to knock out Justin Cardona with a sequence quite similar to that used by Ilia Topuria to take down Charles do Bronx at UFC 317 , in June 2025.

With the victory, Avious Griffin, who entered the fight as a major underdog, reached 19 career wins, 18 of them by knockout. Justin Cardona suffered only his second defeat as a professional fighter.
