The brutal and surprising defeat to Petr Yan in the main event of UFC 323 brought an undesirable end to Merab Dvalishvili 's year . Amidst this, the now former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg) experienced a curious situation just hours after the fight. In a video posted on a fan's Instagram profile, the Georgian is seen hitchhiking in a parking lot to try and find his car in an unidentified location.

Wearing sunglasses and sporting a large wound on his nose, the fighter joked about the situation, relating it to the fact that he had received many punches last weekend.
“I got lost here. That’s what happens when you get beaten up too much,” the Machine said jokingly. The video was posted on the fan page, titled '@prospectgramajo'.

The setback marked the end of one of the most impressive winning streaks in recent years. The Georgian became the first fighter to defend his title four times in the same year, and had he won, he would have come close to the company's record for consecutive wins, held by Anderson Silva and Islam Makhachev . His last defeat had occurred in 2018, when he was submitted by Ricky Simón.
