While UFC 322, held in November at Madison Square Garden, was historic for the organization, the brawl that broke out in the stands has not been forgotten by Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City (USA). The politician reported that the incident is being investigated by the local police department and promised to take drastic measures against the 'bad boys'.
The fight occurred shortly before the start of the main card. In it, Dillon Danis, a friend of Conor McGregor , was apparently alone and had to deal with several Russians angered by his provocations against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev.
Outnumbered, the athlete fared worse, receiving several punches to the face and even the back of the neck. Because the brawl was so intense and violent, the city's mayor lamented what happened, criticized the brawlers' behavior, and expressed his determination to punish them, as they had, whether intentionally or not, drawn negative attention to UFC 322.

“These assaults (seen) at Madison Square Garden are completely unacceptable. The New York Police Department is already conducting a full investigation and all those responsible will be held accountable,” the politician wrote on his official 'X' account.
Punishment
In the post-UFC 322 press conference, Dana White also lamented the brawl and announced that Dillon Danis is banned for life from all UFC events. Frankly, the organization's president admitted his own fault in the incident, as he ignored the advice of arena security to remove him from the event due to the ongoing hostility between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov 's teams.
After the security team put an end to the commotion, those involved were removed from the event. Despite announcing the punishment against Danis, Dana assured that she would not file a complaint against him.
Huge rivalry
If the relationship between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov wasn't good before, it deteriorated completely in 2018. To promote the superfight and destabilize the Russian, the Irishman not only attacked him, but also extended his trash talk to his family, his country, and his religion. In addition to the MMA star, Dillon Danis provoked fighters from Dagestan.
With the warlike atmosphere, a general brawl broke out after Khabib submitted McGregor in the fourth round. The chaos was so great that 'Notorious', still in the octagon, defended himself against attacks from the Russian's friends. 'The Eagle' jumped out of the cage and went after Dillon. Years later, the episode shows that the rivalry between the teams remains alive and is immense.
