On a collision course with the strawweight belt (up to 52,1 kg) at stake, the Brazilians Mackenzie dern e Virna jandiroba will fight the most important fight of their respective careers this Saturday (25). However, as much as the duel is very important, especially for the Brazilian public, not all personalities linked to MMA seem to see it the same way. Din Thomas, former fighter and official UFC commentator, does not seem eager to watch the green and yellow fight.

In an interview with Espaitec's 'On Paper with Anthony Smith', the analyst stated that, in his perception, the duel has not generated significant interest among most sports fans.

"I'm trying to be as respectful (as possible). But has there ever been a more meaningless title fight in history? Maybe not in history, but at least in recent memory. You know what I mean, right? Nobody seems to even care or have eyes for this fight (Jandiroba and Dern)," said Thomas, who competed in the UFC between 2001 and 2008.

One of the most popular names in women's MMA today, Mackenzie dern is on a three-game winning streak and has already beaten Jandiroba in the first clash between the two, held at UFC 256, in December 2020. After the setback, the Bahian recovered and now has five consecutive victories, including high-level performances against yan xiaonan e Amanda lemos.
