Aiemann Zahabi is living a fairy tale in MMA. This Saturday (18), in Canada, the home athlete claimed another victim in the octagon: Marlon Vera . In this way, the veteran secured his seventh consecutive victory. Protagonist of an improbable trajectory in the UFC, the 37-year-old fighter, who defeated the legend José Aldo and now the former bantamweight title challenger (up to 61,2 kg), has definitively moved closer to joining the top-5 of the category.

Enjoying the best moment of his career and fighting at home, Zahabi, previously seen by many as just a hardworking professional, was considered the favorite by bookmakers to beat Chito and he did not disappoint. At UFC Vancouver , the Canadian defeated the Ecuadorian by split decision.

Zahabi and his coolness in the octagon

Vera started the fight on the attack. Playing at home, Zahabi was cautious in his approach, relying on low kicks. Comfortable in the exchanges, Vera opened his toolbox and landed hard strikes, mixing kicks and punches. At the end of the first round, Zahabi sought to attack more and grew in strength, posing a threat to his opponent with crosses.

In the second round, Vera unleashed a series of punches. At one point, the Ecuadorian rocked Zahabi with a clean jab. Frightened by the attack, the Canadian played defensively. Confident, Vera landed a powerful punch to his opponent's waistline. In the final stretch of the second round, Zahabi went all-in and blitzed his opponent.

In the third and final round, the athletes didn't slow down. Zahabi moved forward, but Vera attacked him. Encouraged by the fans, the Canadian retaliated, landing punches on his opponent. Vera, in turn, landed solid kicks on the Canadian. In response, Zahabi landed powerful punches on the Ecuadorian. In the final minute, the fighters continued exchanging blows, with Vera being more effective, but Zahabi attacking more.

Former UFC flyweight (up to 57 kg) title challenger Manon Fiorot recovered from her loss to champion Valentina Shevchenko in the best possible way. Even fighting on hostile territory, the Frenchwoman ignored Jasmine Jasudavicius 's good form , riding a five-fight winning streak, and needed only one round to triumph.

Sharp in her striking, Fiorot landed a straight left that rocked the Canadian. The Frenchwoman then punished Jasudavicius with knees and punches on the ground, only stopping when the referee declared the fight over. Thus, the athlete, ranked second in her category, continues her rise.

Jourdain shines and brings joy to Canadians

Charles Jourdain has become a different fighter after switching from featherweight (up to 65,8 kg) to bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg). While the Canadian previously submitted Victor Henry , he now secured his second consecutive victory by quickly submitting Davey Grant at UFC Vancouver.

In just one round, the athlete disoriented the veteran with a flying knee, and when the fight went to the ground, he displayed his technique by applying a guillotine. Charles was so confident that he celebrated the victory before the referee called the end of the fight. Keep an eye on him in this division!
