Acelino Popó and Wanderlei Silva shocked the combat sports community once again. In September, in São Paulo, the fighting icons were involved in regrettable scenes at the Spaten Fight Night 2 event. However, last Thursday (16), the reason was different, quite unlike the general brawl in the ring. The veterans appeared together in a special reunion promoted by the Burger King brand.

After a controversial encounter in the ring, Popó and Wand put their differences aside and made peace. The curious thing is that, after the incident, the rivalry between the teams intensified, making a reconciliation between the boxing and MMA legends something unimaginable.

The 'Mad Dog' promised to sue his tormentor's son for the attack he suffered in the ring, while Acelino announced his retirement from the noble art, explaining that he had never been so humiliated in his career. Furthermore, André Dida, Wand's friend and trainer, who landed punches on the Bahian in the post-fight melee, challenged him to a boxing duel. However, now, the atmosphere between the legends is different.

The reunion between Popó and Wand was anything but hostile or controversial. On the contrary, after the altercation, the veterans, in a lighthearted and relaxed manner, displayed fair play and, in good humor, even joked about the fight they were involved in. In the new Burger King campaign, the veterans showed that the disagreement between the teams is in the past and that they are open to having a completely different relationship.

Burger King capitalized on the chaos seen in the ring at Spaten Fight Night 2 and doubled down on references. Early in the video, Popó emphasizes that many want to see him punch 'Crazy Dog.' Furthermore, the boxing icon places a crown, a signature item of the company, on the head of the Curitiba native, who takes advantage of the situation and says, 'Use your head.' At the commercial's conclusion, the MMA legend asks the Bahia native if he'd like to bring a sandwich to his 'son,' the same one who attacked him in the all-out brawl in the ring.
