Marcos Parrumpinha didn't like the way Jonathan Diniz assembled his team for UFC Rio, held last Saturday (11). The Brazilian faced the Portuguese Mário Pinto, was dominated on the ground and ended up defeated by technical knockout in the second round. However, more than the negative result, what generated controversy was the presence of businessman Luciano Hang, known as 'Velho da Havan', in the fighter's corner – something that displeased some fans and also the American Top Team coach.

Participating in the podcast 'MMA Hoje', Parrumpinha praised Jonathan Diniz, highlighting his potential and good nature, but criticized the athlete's decision to include someone with no martial arts experience as part of the fighting team. According to the coach, a professional who takes his career seriously needs to surround himself with qualified people.

"Man, I like Jhony, Jhony's a top-notch kid. But if you're a professional and you take your career seriously, you can't do something like that. If you don't take your career seriously, you can't expect other people to take it seriously... The guy comes up to me and says, 'Master, I'm going to bring a friend of mine to the corner.' I say, 'Okay, but I'm not going.'... Tell him to buy a front-row ticket. But in the corner, he's a professional, bro," said Marcos Parrumpa.

With good humor, the coach even joked about the situation, saying that, initially, he had no idea who Luciano Hang was. He said he even imagined the businessman owned a van transportation company.

“I found it funny because I didn’t know who the old man from Havan was, I thought the guy was a van transporter, my brother.”, concluded Parrumpinha.
