Fabricio Werdum continues to add fuel to the fire in the rivalry between the Popó and Wanderlei Silva. Last Saturday (27), in São Paulo, team members staged a general brawl at the end of Spaten Fight Night, which became worldwide headlines. To resolve the dispute, 'Vai Cavalo', who also participated in the confusion, proposed a controversial solution.
During a live Instagram livestream, the Rio Grande do Sul native suggested a fight between the boxing legend and André Dida, the "Mad Dog's" friend and trainer, be held next. It's worth noting that, in the fight following Popó's disqualification victory, he was assaulted by the professional and even lost his mouthguard. With such a history, Werdum signals that a settlement between the parties is necessary.

"Me against Popó is impossible, there's no way. First, he would never accept a fight under different rules. And, even in boxing, I could seriously injure Popó. The fairest thing would be to pit Popó against Dida. He would never accept a fight against Dida. We joke about Dida; he's our athlete, our team's coach for many years. We've known him for over 20 years, and he's always been jokingly known as 'the little executioner.' He's very good at boxing and Muay Thai. It would be the fairest thing if it happened," said Werdum.
Forecast for the reckoning
And, should the hypothetical Dida-Popo bout become a reality, the former UFC heavyweight champion already has a favorite. Despite the Bahian's boxing experience and quality, Werdum is confident that his friend and coach, who has competed in kickboxing and MMA, is more than capable of surprising in the traditional sport.
"Imagine Dida against Popó. He'd knock Popó out 100%. The way I know Dida, he'd accept this fight with his eyes closed. And let me tell you: in the first round, Dida knocks Popó out very quickly. I'm sure of what I'm saying. Absolutely certain. All the odds, no matter what, it's not even a joke. Even in their own field, which is boxing," concluded the former UFC champion.
