The former Pride champion was originally scheduled to face the Rio de Janeiro native, but after the latter suffered a concussion in training, he left the show and was replaced by Popó. Not satisfied, Werdum also criticized Belfort for pointing out the Curitiba native as responsible for the fight and congratulated the Bahia native for having the patience to endure the illegal strikes.
