Caio Borralho was not at all happy with the fight between the teams of Acelino Popó and Wanderlei Silva after the end of the fight between the veterans at Spaten Fight Night 2, an event held last Saturday (27), in São Paulo. Known for being an intelligent athlete, the Fighting Nerds member fears that the sad event will cause the fighters to be marginalized again by the general public.
On his official Xbox account, Borralho made clear his displeasure with the regrettable scenes witnessed in the ring. During the boxing match, Wand caused controversy by resorting to illegal punches and ended up losing by disqualification. Soon after, Popó's team began provoking the opposing team, who immediately reacted aggressively.

In the confusion, Thor Silva, son of "The Mad Dog," André Dida, and Fabrício Werdum attacked the boxing legend. Meanwhile, Rafael Freitas, son of Acelino Kubitschek, who was outside the ring, climbed onto the stage and brutally knocked out Wanderlei. Horrified by the scene, Borralho condemned the episode involving the veterans using strong language.
"After so long, the sport has been fighting for people to see us as decent and civilized beings, and this is what happens? Imagine now being a fighter and wanting sponsorship from a major brand in Brazil, and them having this embarrassment as a reference? Athletes lose a lot because of this :/", wrote the athlete.
Seeking recovery in the UFC
Caio Borralho suffered his first UFC defeat in September. In France, the Brazilian struggled against Nassourdine Imavov , losing by unanimous decision and falling short of a title shot (up to 83,9 kg). Now, the athlete aims to return to the octagon as soon as possible in search of a comeback.
The sport has been fighting for so long for people to see us as decent and civilized beings, why do we do that??? Imagine now being a fighter and wanting a sponsorship from a big brand in Brazil and them having this embarrassment of today as a reference??? The athletes lose a lot with this :/
