“I think the problem with Conor is whether he’s going to attract the interest we think he would. We’d all talk about his fight, but Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor is a completely irrelevant fight. Right? It has no relevance whatsoever. It doesn’t do anything besides, I think, sell tickets, maybe?” said Brown, who competed in the UFC between 2008 and 2023.

While McGregor hasn't stepped into the octagon since July 2021, when he fractured his left leg in a fight against Dustin Poirier , Chandler is on a three-fight losing streak and his last victory was against Tony Ferguson in May 2022.
The American and the Irishman were the coaches for the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter, which aired on UFC Fight Pass between May and August 2023. After much anticipation, the fight between the two was scheduled to be the main attraction of UFC 303 , but Notorious withdrew from the bout after fracturing the little toe on his left foot a few weeks before the fight, being replaced by Alex Poatan and Jiri Prochazka.
