UFC analyst blasts Maurício Ruffy after defeat in Paris: 'I didn't want to fight anymore'

Din Thomas didn't spare the Brazilian and said he expected more from the fighter

Din Thomas expected more from Maurício Ruffy. The Brazilian suffered his first UFC defeat in a tough setback. Benoit St. Dennis in the co-main event of UFC Paris, held this Saturday (6). The 'homeowner' finished the Fighting Nerd in the second round of the fight. For the UFC analyst, Ruffy did not seem to be focused on the duel.

“I thought he was going to do something fascinating tonight, and the first kick to the body shook Luffy. Then the kick to the head shook him. And I think that got Luffy mad, he didn't want to fight anymore. Mauricio Ruffy also made me eat my words,” Din Thomas said on the post-fight show. UFC Paris

"Maybe he's not as good as we thought. Still. He still has work to do. But tonight he didn't show up and didn't seem like he wanted to be there," the analyst said. 

Din Thomas is a former American UFC fighter. He is known for his skills in BJJ, a sport in which he holds a 3rd-degree black belt from Ricardo Liborio. Din Thomas is also an experienced coach and currently works as a commentator for the UFC.

Luffy loses to the homeowner

Hype over? Mauricio Luffy's skills were no match for the strength and grappling of Benoit Saint-Denis in the co-main event of UFC Paris, held this Saturday (6). Motivated by the crowd, the Frenchman insisted on grappling, dominated the nerd on the ground and won by submission in the second round.

With the negative result, Ruffy suffered his second career loss, his first in the UFC octagon. Saint-Denis, on the other hand, continued his good form and is now on a two-fight winning streak, after losing two in a row.
