Floyd Mayweather did not shy away from controversy when commenting on the exhibition fight against Mike Tyson, announced for early 2026. In a post on social media, the former undefeated champion acknowledged the irritation that his success generates in opponents and fans, and did not mince words to reinforce his legacy in the sport.
"If I were anyone else, I'd be upset too. How can someone make money for almost 30 years without losing? I understand the anger; I'd feel the same way. If I were Tyson, I'd be hating too. So keep hating. At the end of the day, we only talk about the winners. And I'm one of them," Mayweather declared.

The fight between two of the greatest legends in world boxing is already stirring up anticipation among fans, even though a date or location has not been set. At 59, Tyson carries the strength and fame of his golden era, despite losing his last fight to Jake Paul in 2024, which showed that the phenomenon still arouses interest.
On the other hand, Mayweather, 48 years old and retired since 2017, maintains the aura of invincibility and has profited from a series of exhibition fights that keep his name in the spotlight.
