Neil Magny started the fight moving forward and trying to control the center of the octagon. Elizeu Capoeira attempted a body kick against the American, who caught the leg. Magny moved forward combining punches, and Capoeira responded with a right cross. Once again, the Brazilian took advantage of the American's advance to connect with another hard cross and put his rival against the cage. The two exchanged blows and switched positions several times against the cage. Capoeira won the exchange of blows and even managed to clinch Magny's back. The Brazilian attempted a single-leg takedown, but the American defended well and escaped the hold. After a brief exchange, Capoeira closed in and again grabbed his rival against the cage. Magny once again escaped the hold and worked a good boxing combination. In the final stretch, the two exchanged more openly, and Capoeira attempted another takedown as the bell rang.

After three action-packed rounds, the Argentinian Vallejos emerged victorious by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27). With a lot of firepower in his hands, 'El Chino' got the better of most of the exchanges against the American.
