Back to the winning path, Eduardo Moura is preparing to deliver another great performance in the octagon. Scheduled to perform at UFC Nashville This Saturday (12), the Sergipe native faces a former challenger for the flyweight title (up to 56,7 kg.) Lauren Murphy. Confident, the athlete promises another great show in the fight.
Despite having won Veronica Hardy In her last appearance, the Brazilian was candid when commenting on the loss of her unbeaten record in 2024, when she was defeated by Denis Gomes in a split decision. In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, Eduarda spoke about the tranquility and positive side of dealing with the episode.

"Without any hypocrisy, I can tell you that the loss I suffered was very good, good in parts, because I felt the weight of being unbeaten. It's part of the sport; it's very difficult to win, win, win. Defeat is part of it, and this defeat taught me a lot. That's also why we decided to change weight classes; it was already hurting me, I was already having trouble making 52kg. It's not something I can say I won't return to, especially because I truly believe I can one day. But at this moment, the best choice was to move up to flyweight.
"If I hadn't lost, I might not be here today. That loss was meant to happen; it lifted a huge weight off my shoulders, because being undefeated weighs heavily on you. You enter the fight thinking about maintaining your legacy, and it saps your energy. I'm very calm. I've already lost once, and I don't want to lose again. That doesn't mean I want to lose again, but it's something that no longer consumes me. Now life goes on, I'm working to train well, and Saturday is a great day."
Evolution in MMA
With only three years as a professional MMA fighter, Eduarda surprised everyone by opting for stand-up fighting instead of her signature move in her last UFC victory. Without false modesty, the division's promising prospect admitted to approving of Hardy's performance.
"I really enjoyed it. If I was better then, I'm worse now. I did an incredible job with my Muay Thai teacher, because I was boxing, I didn't know Muay Thai. It took about three months to correct mistakes and maximize my strengths (...) I come from jiu-jitsu, I love jiu-jitsu, I love grappling, but I like to trade punches, I like to fight with my hands, I enjoy that. The ground game is my strong point, so I'll save it for when I need it. We start the fight standing, so we'll see, we'll feel the fight, and I'll only take it to the ground if I really need it. I intend to repeat the performance and hope for an even better one, maybe even a knockout."

Lauren Murphy at UFC Nashville
Called to welcome Lauren upon her return from retirement, Moura recognizes her rival's greatness in the sport, but doesn't allow facts to intimidate her in any way.
"It's definitely the biggest fight of her career, given her history and experience. She fought the best, she fought the champion. Valentina Shevchenko, so it does weigh a bit. With each step we take, the difficulty increases, it's part of the path we have to travel, but everything will be alright.”

Favoritism in the fight
Duda, considered one of the biggest favorites for the event by bookmakers, quickly pointed out the factors that make her believe she has the status.
"I think people see this a lot because of her age, and because she's been inactive. I also believe in priorities. It's her last fight, and she definitely wants to retire with a win, but it's different from when I arrive and want to pursue a winning path. I think I have more desire, and I think they consider that too."

Optimal outcome
Finally, the fighter expressed her thirst for violence and guaranteed to seek the Fight of the Night bonus, where she could pocket 50 thousand dollars, around 277 thousand reais at the current exchange rate.
"I'm going in for three rounds of combat. I know how tough she is. If I can knock her out, I will. If I can catch her, I will. But I'm going in enjoying the fight, I'm going to enjoy it, and I hope to give it my all. I believe it'll be a good fight, hopefully the fight of the night. Let's give it a try," he concluded.
