Away from the UFC after a big win in 2021, Amanda nunes assures fans that she is back in MMA and determined to fight for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg) again. After winning over Irene aldana, the fighter placed her gloves in the center of the octagon and stated that she was stepping away so that she could watch her daughters grow up with her wife nina nunes.
Keeping an eye on the arrival of Kayla harrison to the division throne, the Lioness shows that she has gained motivation to put on the gloves once again, in order to ruin the great moment experienced by her former training partner at American Top Team.

“I just want to fight again. I decided to come back to something that I really enjoy being in. Honestly, that’s why I took two years off, because I don’t want to burn out. I have the rest that I need and everything. Why not come back?” Nunes told The Schmo.
Following her statement, Amanda did not hesitate to declare that she was not impressed with the American's performance when she won the belt over Julianna Pena No. UFC 316.
“I’m not impressed. I think she did what she was supposed to do. She saw that she could beat Julianna, she saw the arm, and then she took the arm, and she beat Julianna. So I’m happy for her,” she concluded.
Amanda and Kayla, who have agreed to face each other next, are looking forward to settling their differences in a fight for the bantamweight belt. When she was named the new champion, the American invited the lioness to step into the octagon and they had a tense stare-down, making the long-awaited fight official. So far, the organization has not announced a date for the duel.
