Jon Jones spoke about the end of his career hours after the announcement made by Dana White. In a press conference after the UFC Baku, held on Saturday night (21), the UFC CEO revealed retirement from 'Bones' and announced Tom aspinall as the new linear heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg). According to the president of Ultimate, the decision was informed by the Jon Jones through a call last Friday (20).

Jon Jones He reserved the end of the statement to thank important people in his career and ended the text with a message of optimism.
“I want to thank the UFC, Dana, Hunter, Lorenzo, God, my family, my coaches, my teammates and all the fans who have supported me through every chapter. Your unwavering support and faith in me has been my foundation. To my fellow fighters, thank you for bringing out the best in me and for the respect we have shared both inside and outside the Octagon. As this chapter of my life closes, I look forward to new opportunities and challenges. MMA will always be a part of who I am, and I am excited to see how I can continue to contribute to the sport and inspire others in new ways. Thank you all for being a part of this incredible journey with me. The best is yet to come,” Jones concluded.
At 37, Jon Jones ends his career with a record of 28 wins, one loss by disqualification and one fight without a result, consolidating his status as one of the greatest fighters in the history of MMA. He started in MMA in 2008, made a quick debut in the UFC and in March 2011, at the age of 23 years and eight months, became the youngest champion in UFC history. In the light heavyweight division, he defended the belt 11 times. He moved up to the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg) and submitted Cyryl Gane in 2023, winning the belt in the new category. In November 2024, he knocked out Stipe Miocic in his first and only heavyweight title defense, reaffirming his legendary legacy.
