Próximo de encarar Jamahal Hill na luta principal do UFC Baku, Khalil Rountree Jr. vem encontrando formas interessantes para se preparar para o confronto. Vindo de defeat to Alex Poatan em combate pelo título dos meio-pesados (até 93 kg.), o norte-americano tem trabalhado com outro ex-campeão: Luke Rockhold. Uma intensa sessão de treino dos dois foi capturada num vídeo publicado pelo perfil do ‘JAXXON Podcast' last Tuesday (13).

At 35 years old, Rountree Jr. had success in the early rounds against Poatan, but was eventually knocked out in the fourth round. After the fight, the fighter's facial injuries shocked the public and media, so much so that he was forced to take a considerable break from the octagon.

Já Luke Rockhold se tornou campeão dos médios do Ultimate (até 83,9 kg.) em 2015, ao vencer Chris Weidman por nocaute técnico na luta co-principal do UFC 194. Além disso, ele também foi o último dono do cinturão da categoria no Strikeforce. Após uma série de derrotas, ele se aposentou definitivamente do MMA em 2022 e desde então vem participando de outras modalidades, como o Karate Combat.
