Heading towards his first title fight in his Ultimate career, Diego Lopes plans to use all his violence to establish himself as the legitimate featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg). Despite his high level of jiu-jitsu, the man from Manaus did not hesitate to say that the outcome of his fight against Alexander Volkanovksi at UFC 314 , this Saturday (13) will be a knockout.
“Now I have the opportunity, I have to take advantage of it. In any situation, my grappling is dangerous for him, but I see myself winning the fight by knockout,” Diego declared during a recording to promote UFC 314.

Riding a five-fight winning streak, Diego poses a significant threat to his opponents when the fight goes to the ground. Including a victory via flying triangle choke, the Manaus native has managed to blend his strategies and show improvement in his striking game. In his last appearance, the fighter defeated Brian Ortega by unanimous decision after nearly knocking out his rival in the first round.

On the other hand, Volkanovski seeks to return to winning ways after suffering two consecutive knockout losses. The former champion of the division, the fighter was only defeated by Ilia Topuria in this weight class and is considered the favorite for the duel scheduled for April 13th at UFC 314 in Miami (USA).
