Towards the first title fight in his career at Ultimate, Diego lopes plans to use all violence to establish himself as the legitimate featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg). Despite his high level of jiu-jitsu, the Manaus native did not hesitate to say that the outcome of his fight against Alexander Volkanovksi in UFC 314, this Saturday (13) will be the knockout.
“Now I have the opportunity, I have to take advantage of it. In any situation, my grappling is dangerous for him, but I see myself winning the fight by knockout,” Diego declared during a recording to promote the UFC 314.

With five consecutive victories, Diego poses a great threat to his opponents when the fight goes to the ground. With a triumph via flying triangle, the fighter from Manaus has managed to mix his strategies and show evolution in the stand-up department. In his last appearance, the fighter overcame Brian ortega in the judges' decision after almost knocking out his rival in the first round.

On the other hand, Volkanovski is looking to return to winning ways after suffering two consecutive knockout losses. A former champion in the category, the fighter was only surpassed by Ilia Topuria in this weight and is considered the favorite for the duel scheduled for April 13, at UFC 314, in Miami (USA).
