Brazilian giant 'Xicão' to headline UFC Nashville heavyweight legend, says journalist

The UFC has really seen the Brazilian Tallison Teixeira as a great promise of the heavyweights (up to 120,2 kg) in the organization. After entering the top 15 of the category with only one victory in his debut fight, when he knocked out justin tafa still in the first round in UFC 312, 'Xicão' will be one of the protagonists of the main fight of UFC Nashville, scheduled to take place on July 12, in the United States.

Tallison set to face heavyweight legend Derrick Lewis, what is the greatest knockout artist in UFC history. The American has already knocked out 15 opponents in more than ten years with the organization. The news was first reported by journalist Laerte Viana, who announced the fight in a post on his profile on 'X' (formerly Twitter). (see below)

The fight against Lewis sounds like a golden opportunity for 'Xicão'. Currently ranked 14th in the heavyweight rankings, the Brazilian giant, who stands over two meters tall, will have a chance to enter the top 10 if he defeats 'The Black Beast', who is ranked 9th. Despite being inexperienced in the UFC, Tallison Teixeira is undefeated in his MMA career, with eight wins, and having knocked down justin tafa in just 35 seconds it was quite a calling card.

On the other hand, Lewis has been out of action since defeating Rodrigo Zé Colmeia in May 2024, having had two fights cancelled in November.

No other fights have been announced for the UFC Nashville yet.
