Lupita Godinez had an intense night last Saturday (29) at UFC Mexico. In addition to the Brazilian Julia Polastri, the Mexican fighter had to deal with stomach problems inside the octagon. Despite the adversities, the homeowner managed to come away with the victory by unanimous decision after three rounds, only to then run to the bathroom.

Cameras captured the moment between the second and third rounds when the strawweight fighter (up to 52,1kg) told her corner: "I need to poop" and began grimacing in pain. Lupita's trainer appeared taken aback and stifled a laugh, before her team reminded her that she only had to hold out for five more minutes. (see below)

During an interview with journalist Ariel Helwani, Godinez detailed how bad the situation was in UFC Mexico.

“I was having, I don’t know, the s**t, I guess, all that Friday and then through the night and then in the morning. And then before I left the locker room to go to the fight when I went to change: again. And then I was like, oh, wow. Okay. But I just didn’t say anything. I was like, just suck it up. It is what it is. And then in the Octagon, in the second round, I just felt something, and when I say things, when something’s going on, I just say it like that, no filters, I guess,” he explained.

Godinez also revealed that she was not embarrassed by the moment being captured by UFC cameras.

“It happened, and it’s great. I don’t care. Like, it is what it is… That makes it sweeter. That makes it great. And no excuses. I wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass me by,” he joked.

The strawweight fighter also said that if the fight had been longer, perhaps the outcome would have been more embarrassing.

“If it was five rounds, it would have been tough. I just tried not to think about it. It was fine. I didn’t do that in the cage,” he admitted.

Godinez's victory over Julia Polastri puts her back in the win column after two tough losses to Mackenzie dern e Virna jandiroba. Prior to that, she was on a four-fight winning streak.

The Mexican athlete wasn't the only one dealing with stomach problems in UFC Mexico. Average weight (up to 83,9 kg.) joe pyfer gave up his great fight against Kelvin Gastelum because he also had a case of dysentery. Outraged, the American said that never will step on Mexico.
