Undefeated in his career, Ilia Topuria is experiencing his greatest phase within the UFC. The Spaniard knocked out two of the greatest featherweights (up to 65,7kg) in history, gained confidence and gave up his belt to try his luck in the division above. To mark the good moment, the champion even changed his nickname from 'El Matador' to 'Legend', which was not well received by Renato Moicano.

In a video published on his YouTube channel, Moicano questioned Topuria's name change, doubting whether he really deserves this status, given the level and moment of his opponents.

“‘Elias’ Topuria made a big deal about being called ‘The Legend’, but is this guy really a legend? In his first UFC fight, he faced Zalal, who after that lost four in a row. Then he fought Damon Jackson, who is no longer in the UFC. He defeated Ryan Hall, who had not fought for two years. Jai Herbert almost knocked him out. Then he faced Bryce mitchell, who was knocked out by Josh Emmett, 38 years old. Then, the man himself Josh Emmett. And the two biggest wins were against Volkanovski and Max Holloway, but Volkanovski had been knocked out by Islam, and Holloway was dropping down a weight class. Based on that, can you call him a legend? In my opinion, no.”, analyzed Moicano.

Topuria made his UFC debut in October 2020 and has since racked up eight wins in the organization, five by knockout and one by submission. After relinquishing his title, the Spaniard wait the holding of a confrontation against Islam makhachev.
