Knowing this, Paulo borrachinha took to social media to mock the situation. Soon after Ankalaev's victory, the Brazilian suggested, ironically, that he would start his Ramadan the following day.
“I will start my Ramadan next Monday,” wrote Paulo Costa on X, accompanying the message with a prayer emoji.
Despite being a devout Muslim, Magomed Ankalayev stated before the duel that was not strictly following the rules of Ramadan fasting since the beginning on February 28.
