Defeated in UFC 313, Alex Poatán became the target of mockery after his ex-girlfriend Merle Christine used her social media to provoke the Brazilian. Keeping an eye on the situation, Jamahal hill took an unusual attitude and came to the defense of his great rival. Irritated, the American turned to the German and harshly criticized her stance.
“A lot of people are seeing his ex-girlfriend that he had and cut out of his life because she wasn’t being real and stuff like that. For her to come in and try to come in and take that shit is really bad. That’s really bad. For her to do that and then like she married someone else, I mean, that whole situation is like you haven’t moved on with your life since then, like that was over a year ago. How can you really tell who was the positive in a relationship and who was actually offering the other person more than what was being offered when the relationship ended?” Hill asked on her YouTube channel.

Finally, Jamahal reinforced his judgment and suggested that both of them leave the problem behind.
“They feel the need to keep trying to use your name and drag themselves back into the situation or the physicality or the vision of that person, but you have to move on and let it go. That’s ridiculous,” he concluded.

On his official Instagram account, Merle stated that Poatan suffered from karma and took the opportunity to laugh at his ex-boyfriend's defeat. The Brazilian also apologized after the episode and repudiated Christine's actions.
