Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev engaged in a fierce battle in the octagon at UFC 313 in Las Vegas (USA). The American won by unanimous decision. The judges scored the co-main event 29-28. The fighters exchanged compliments in the octagon. A trilogy was requested by the defeated fighter, but 'Highlights' said he would only do a third fight if the title was on the line.

Fighters wage 'war' in the octagon

The fight began cautiously, with Fiziev attempting low kicks , which were more effective. One of Gaethje's kicks took the fight to the ground, but Justin managed to escape. Shortly after, the fight went to the ground again, leaving the American in terrible shape. After about two minutes of 'war', the fight returned to standing. The final round began with great confidence from the veteran. Fiziev attempted a spinning kick that missed. There was a lot of striking in the first minute. Justin landed a counter straight that momentarily unsettled Rafael. Shortly after, Gaethje fell after attempting a kick, and Fiziev went in for a knockout, but the American escaped. The distance was closed, and in the clinch, Gaethje landed punches from the bottom. A kick then connected in Gaethje's favor. 'The Highlight' dominated for several moments, without letting himself be discouraged. Against the cage, the clinch broke down during Fiziev's knee attempt. In the end, Gaethje landed some good strikes to secure the round.

The fight between Ignacio Bahamondes and Jalin Turner began with many kicks from both fighters. The lightweight bout (up to 70,3kg) went to the ground with the Chilean trying to pull his opponent into his guard. After a while, Turner got into the game and 'La Jaula' didn't waste the opportunity. A perfect triangle choke was locked in and the submission was made. It's the second time Ignacio has won by submission in his career, securing his place in the top 15 of the category. The winner's record now stands at 17 wins and five losses.
