Ruffy is expected to make it to the lightweight rankings and put himself in a good position for the organization's 'Knockout of the Year' award. In his career, he has 12 wins and one loss.
King, 38, has suffered his second consecutive defeat and has a record of 32 wins, 17 losses, one draw and one fight without a result.
Mauricio Ruffy applies a spinning kick, defeats King Green by knockout and challenges Beneil Dariush
The fight began with Maurício in range and cornering King against the fence. And a right-handed blow landed on the American's face, which made him sway but absorb it. From there, the Brazilian built up the distance and the moment of genius appeared.
After feinting a punch, Ruffy applied a spinning kick to Green's head, who fell unconscious and bleeding in the octagon. The knockout is similar to that of Edson Barboza against Terry emo, at UFC Rio 2. Awesome!
“What do you think? Tell me: Mauricio Ruffy x Beneil Dariush at a Fight Night event,” Ruffy asked in an interview in the octagon.
In a new generation fight, Joshua Van stops Rei Tsuruya from falling and takes away his rival's invincibility

The closing of the preliminary card marked a curiosity: Joshua Van e King Tsuruya were the first fighters born after the 2000s to face each other wearing UFC gloves. And the Myanmar-born fighter won. With a strong rhythm and pressure, he inhibited the Japanese fighter's takedowns, landed good blows in the exchange and left with his arms raised in the unanimous decision of the judges. The fight was valid for the flyweight division (up to 56,7 kg).
Van has now won 13th (and lost two) of his career – his sixth in the UFC. With a great performance, the fighter is 15th in the rankings and should climb the rankings in his quest for the belt.
Tsuruya, on the other hand, has his undefeated streak broken. The Japanese fighter was undefeated in ten fights and loses the chance to enter the list of the best fighters in the category led by Alexandre pantoja.
