Mairon Santos gets a scare and has a tight fight, but wins in his debut at UFC 313

It was a struggle. Second Brazilian in UFC 313, an event that takes place this Saturday (8), Mairon Santos he fought a close fight and won Francis Marshall in the judges' split decision. The champion of The Ultimate Fighter 25' suffered takedowns, but managed to be superior in the exchange. The fight was valid for the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg).

After winning TUF, Mairon Santos achieved his first positive outcome with the organization's gloves. He has a record of 15 wins and two losses.

Marshall, on the other hand, has a record of eight wins and three losses. The American has a 'negative record' in the UFC, with three losses in five fights.

Mairon Santos defeats Francis Marshall in a tight fight

Mairon Santos had a scare in the first round. After studying and exchanging blows between the fighters, in the final stretch, the Brazilian received a strong cross from Marshall, which made him fall. He, however, managed to recover and breathed until the bell rang.

The second round brought Mairon's biggest concern to the fore: Francis' wrestling. The fighter invested in the grip, took down the TUF champion and worked well on his moves in search of a takedown. Mairon, however,

A nosebleed seemed to be hampering Francis in the third set, but the American didn't let the injury hinder his movement. Santos, in turn, went for the 'miracle move' to seal the victory and began to corner his opponent close to the fence. And not even a fall in the final seconds made him lose the fight.
