The 30-year-old fighter, known for his bizarre conspiracy theories, presented a (to say the least) unusual drawing to counter the scientists, illustrating their claim that helicopters prove the Earth does not rotate.

“There’s a clip of me on the PBD podcast going around. It’s literally got millions of views, and everyone’s talking shit about me because of how stupid I am. Let me explain myself a little bit better, because this is what I meant by what I said, and I don’t think anyone’s going to disagree when I explain it. I said you can prove the Earth doesn’t rotate, because you can take a helicopter, hover at 20 feet for 24 hours, and come back down to the same place. And everyone was like, ‘Oh, a helicopter has inertia.’ I know what inertia is, man, I’m not an idiot,” Mitchell said in an Instagram video posted on Sunday (23). (watch below)

Mitchell argued that if the Earth were rotating, a hovering helicopter would have to travel a greater distance than the ground below it.

“If you don’t understand the geometry of spheres and circles, this will go over your head. But what I said makes perfect sense, and I’m a lot smarter than most of you think. Some of you may not be able to understand what I’m saying, but God bless you and keep doing your own research. Because there is no proof that the Earth rotates. That’s a lie from the devil… An object in motion stays in motion. If I shove my foot up your ass, it will keep going up until I stop it. How about that, buddy?” he concluded.

Mitchell’s latest conspiracy theory adds to his history of pushing fringe beliefs, from questioning the moon landing to claiming that mass shootings are staged to push for gun control. On his podcast, 'ArkanSanity', Mitchell not only praised Adolf Hitler, but also cast doubt on the Holocaust.

Although UFC president Dana White publicly reprimanded Mitchell, calling him "a complete idiot" for his Hitler rant, no disciplinary action was taken.
