With a guillotine in the first round, Melquizael Costa secured victory over the home team, the veteran André Fili, this Saturday (22), in the preliminary card of UFC Seattle. It was the third victory for the Brazilian featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) in the UFC.
At the end of the fight, in the interview in the octagon, Melquizael made fun when asked when he would fight again and used the famous catchphrase of the UFC light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg), Alex Poatán.

With his third UFC victory, Melquizael Costa now has a record of 22 wins and seven losses. The veteran André Fili now has 24 wins and 12 losses.

In the end, Melquizael revealed that he was a fan of his opponent and said that he felt honored to face the UFC veteran.
“It was an honor for me to fight Fili. I remember that, years ago, back home in Pará, I watched him fight Max Holloway, and having shared the octagon with him now was an honor,” he said.
Mansur Abdul-Malik confirmed favoritism against Nick Klein
Biggest favorite of the night, the American Mansur Abdul-Malik suffered, but managed to beat Nick Klein in the penultimate fight of the preliminary card of UFC Seattle, in a duel valid for the middleweight category (up to 83,9 kg). With the triumph, the undefeated fighter reached his eighth victory as a professional and his second in the Ultimate.
Malik imposed himself in the early stages of the fight by dominating the center of the octagon, but was seriously stunned when he was hit by a spinning punch from Klein, who took advantage of the opportunity to impose his isometric and grappling game against the fence. The favorite came back more aggressive in the next round, and after reversing a takedown attempt, he threw Klein to the ground and connected a series of powerful punches to his opponent's head, which forced referee Jason Herzog to stop the duel at three minutes and 24 seconds of the second round.
