The UFC star Jared Cannonier has an important commitment this Saturday (15), when he faces the Brazilian Gregory Robocop in the main fight of ufc vegas 102. But even focused on his next challenge, 'The Killa Gorilla' stood in solidarity and defended Sean Strickland amid recent criticism the former champion has received after the defeat to Dricus du Plessis in the dispute for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg) in UFC 312.

Strickland failed to reclaim the title from the same man who took it from him. In addition, 'Tarzan' took a pretty convincing beating, including a broken nose in six places. Since then, the former champion has received criticism from fans – and his own coaches – who felt he could have given more in the fight.

Jared Cannonier, who fought Strickland in the past and won the duel by split decision, came to his rival's defense.

“Congratulations to both competitors for not coming out as injured as everyone expected. ‘To the death.’ Everyone keeps repeating it and throwing it in Sean’s face. It was a fight as expected. DDP fought as expected, Sean Strickland fought as expected, and we have another championship fight in the books,” Cannonier told reporters at Media Day.

'The Killa Gorilla' also made his point with a 'slam of critics'.

“I thought he went in there and fought five rounds in a world title fight and got the short end of the stick with a broken nose. People wanted him to suffer more damage than that. We live in a sadistic world where people want to see other people go through some kind of pain and get pleasure from it,” he concluded.
