Instead of a season-long format in which fighters earned points over two regular-season fights to make the playoffs, the PFL recently announced that it would host tournaments in eight divisions: heavyweight (120,2 pounds), light heavyweight (93 pounds), middleweight (83,9 pounds), welterweight (77 pounds), lightweight (70,3 pounds), featherweight (65,7 pounds), bantamweight (61,2 pounds) and women's flyweight (56,7 pounds), with the latter being the only women's tournament this season.

The first round and semifinals will be scheduled for three 5-minute rounds. The finals will be scheduled for five 5-minute rounds. The winner of each divisional tournament will receive a $500 bonus, down from the $2,889 million prize pool in previous seasons.

The semi-finals are scheduled to take place on June 12, June 20 and June 27, with a location yet to be determined. The finals are scheduled for August 1, 15 and 21, also with a location yet to be determined. The participants for the next season have not yet been announced.
