Rodolfo Bellato went through several different scenarios within his struggle in UFC 312, an event held this Saturday (8), in Australia. A small technical error caused Bellato to fall on the bottom early in the fight. Crute, in turn, took advantage of the opportunity to stay in the guard and land some powerful blows from above. Fighting at home, the Australian continued to dominate on the ground with good moments. With 30 seconds remaining, Rodolfo was still feeling it and received another right 'bomb' from Jimmy. He, however, resisted and was saved by the bell.
Bellato received suggestions from his corner — including Alex Poatán — who needed to be quicker in his actions and frustrate Crute. And the strategy worked at first, since Crute seemed more tired. With jabs and straight punches, the Brazilian grew in the fight and shook the Australian. Jimmy, in turn, also had a powerful hook, but it was better absorbed by the Brazilian.
Physically fit, Rodolfo changed his stance and had some dramatic moments in the final stretch. The Brazilian tried to take him down, but the fight ended with alternating standing fights. In the seconds before the end of the fight, he landed a flying knee followed by a slap.

In the welterweight division (up to 77kg), the Australian exchanged heavy blows and left with his arms raised in the unanimous decision of the judges. He asked to face Neil Magny in the next fight.
