In a post on his official Instagram account, Mitchell apologized. The UFC fighter said he did not mean to offend anyone and defended himself by saying he was not a Nazi. In the caption of the statement, he wrote: 'In the future, I will be much more thoughtful when speaking about people's suffering.'
“I’m sorry if I came across as insensitive. I definitely wasn’t trying to offend anyone, but I know I did. I know a lot of people died in the Holocaust, and that’s a fact. Hitler did a lot of bad things, I think we can all agree on that. I’m definitely not a Nazi and I definitely don’t condone any of the bad things Hitler did,” Mitchell wrote.

During the first episode of Mitchell's new podcast posted on YouTube, the UFC featherweight fighter, made shocking comments, among them that Adolf Hitler was a 'good guy'. Under his leadership, the Nazi regime was responsible for the genocide of an estimated six million Jews and millions of other victims whom he and his regime considered socially undesirable. Hitler was also responsible for the deliberate killing of an estimated 19,3 million civilians and prisoners of war during World War II, the deadliest conflict in history.
“I honestly think Hitler was a good guy, based on my own research, not my public education and indoctrination. He fought for his country, he wanted to purify it by driving out the greedy Jews who were destroying his country and turning them all gay,” he stressed.
Dana White condemns Mitchell

During a press conference, Dana White expressed his outrage in a blunt manner, classifying the fighter's words as 'idiotic and ignorant shit'.
“He is responsible for the deaths of six million Jews and tried to exterminate an entire race of people,” said the organization’s leader, recalling the magnitude of the impact of World War II, which killed tens of millions of civilians and soldiers.
“Anyone who tries to justify this position is an idiot. The internet is full of stupid and ignorant people,” he added.
