Cory Sandhagen is bored and excited at the same time. Days after the UFC champion of his division, Merab Dvalishvili, defeat Umar Nurmagomedov No. UFC 311 , 'Sandman' released a statement on Thursday (23) showing his opposition to an immediate rematch between Merab and former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) Sean O'Malley.

With no clear favorite for the upcoming UFC bantamweight title fight, a rematch between Dvalishvili and O'Malley could be in the cards. O'Malley hasn't competed since Dvalishvili dethroned him in September. As he doesn't have a fight scheduled yet, Sandhagen, ranked No. 4 in the division, challenged 'Suga' in a video posted to his Instagram.

“Let’s be real. (Sean) O’Malley has no business fighting Merab for an immediate rematch. He was beaten in the first fight. He’s going to be beaten in the second fight. Nobody wants to see that fight. I’m not booked yet. I want a fight. I’m so bored. I’ll even give this idiot all the time he wants, the way Aljamain gave him all the time he wants. Just, UFC, make the fight the fans want to see: me and O’Malley. Make it happen already. I’m bored as f***,” the American vented. (see video below)

Coming off a loss in August to Umar Nurmagomedov, Sandhagen is one of the few at the top of the division that Dvalishvili has yet to fight. 'Sandman' has a record of 17 wins and five losses.
