An interesting story, to say the least, took over the MMA world this week. After two fights for the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg) won by Israel adesanya against Robert whittaker and much anger fueled, the two are now friends and train together at City Kickboxing in New Zealand.

“It was just organic. His trainer contacted my trainer and Eugene asked me. I was like, 'Sure – he can show up at any time. ' I didn't know he was showing up that Monday, so when I saw him, I was excited. I was excited. It's always good to have someone like Rob, of his caliber, in the gym." Adesanya said in an interview with 'MMA Junkies'.
The initiative, therefore, came from Whittaker who also took over this week, in 'The Ariel Helwani Show' that if he could he would have hit the Nigerian with a car when they were still rivals.
“Yeah… the tension was high, but we always knew we would get along. We’re just two easygoing guys. But yeah… that’s funny,” the Australian told journalist Ariel Helwani.
Unlike Whittaker, Adesanya has a fight lined up. The 'Last Stylebender' will look to snap a two-fight losing streak when he faces Nassourdine Imavov, on February 1, in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
