In a month with Jon Jones facing Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 and the legendary Mike Tyson returning to the ring against Jake Paul , it was going to be hard not to have a good fight. But incredibly, the main event fighters of the two major November events were overshadowed by other fighters who were determined to leave with their arms raised, whether in the ring or the octagon.

Despite negative reviews regarding the below-average fights at the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event , the rematch between women's boxing legends Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano was one of the exceptions of the night and went down in history . After all, there was a lot at stake in that fight: the unified WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF world titles in the super-lightweight division.
Both Taylor and Serrano demonstrated extraordinary determination in the ring at AT&T Stadium in Texas (USA) in a 10-round fight. The Irish fighter started out on the attack, but realized that she couldn't afford to be careless in the face of her Puerto Rican opponent's heavy hand. The two warriors exchanged many blows in a well-balanced fight, driving the crowd wild. In the sixth round, Taylor accidentally headbutted Serrano, who suffered a deep cut on her eyebrow. Even though she was bleeding heavily, the Puerto Rican fighter told the doctor that she would continue in the fight.

In the eighth round, Taylor headbutted Serrano again, which cost her a point that was taken away by the referee. It was her rival's hope for a comeback. Even so, in the judges' decision, the point made little difference and the victory was given to the Irishwoman, who kept the belts. However, both received a standing ovation for the spectacle that night.
Petr Yan x Deiveson Figueiredo

The main event of UFC Macau between Petr Yan and Deiveson Figueiredo was a true five-round war. The Brazilian, who moved up from flyweight (up to 56,7 kg), already had a three-fight winning streak in the bantamweight division (up to 61,3 kg) and faced a former champion of the category who was in his worst phase, with only one win in five fights.
But the Russian entered determined to relive his glory days in the octagon. With a lot of grit, determination, and technique, he managed to use his head to gain an advantage over the Brazilian. Deiveson fought well, landed strikes on his feet, and secured takedowns, but Petr Yan always seemed to be one step ahead. He connected with good attacks, maintained distance, and found a way to get on top when taken to the ground.
A memorable fight , which would have been even better for Brazilian fans if the judges hadn't awarded Yan the victory by unanimous decision. Even so, the spectacle was worth the price of admission.

The best fight of the month had it all : the Brazilian's superiority, the American's dirty tricks, a scare, a chase... an exciting battle! The rematch between Charles do Bronx and Michael Chandler was the co-main event of UFC 309 and overshadowed the main event of that night between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic.
Charles showed his superiority from the beginning of the fight. He landed good punches, knees and knocked Chandler to the ground however he wanted, several times. The American, in turn, abused the dirty play. He hit the Brazilian in the eyes with his fingers twice, grabbed the fence when he was knocked down, held his opponent's gloves... and the referee did nothing. An unforgettable scene was when Chandler ran 'from the hunt of the blurred lion', in what looked like a game of 'tag'.
In one of the attacks that hit the Brazilian's eyes in the last round, Chandler almost reversed what already seemed certain. He connected with a punch that knocked Charles down and fired several blows to the opponent's head (some to the back of the neck). But do Bronx managed to keep calm enough to reverse the situation and place a padlock on the American's back.
Chandler then repeated what he had done in his first defeat to Charles. He jumped on the ground with the Brazilian on his back to try to get the air out of his lungs, but, unfazed, the Brazilian seemed to feel nothing and even stuck his tongue out at the cameras.
In the end, Charles Oliveira was crowned champion after a unanimous decision by the judges, securing his second victory over Michael Chandler . It was definitely the fight of the month!
