For Yan, who was going through the worst moment of his career with only one positive result in five fights, this triumph marked his second consecutive victory, putting him close to a new title fight.

Deiveson saw his three-fight winning streak in the bantamweight division (up to 61,3 kg) come to an end.

Five round war

In the first minute of the fight, Deiveson Figueiredo took advantage of the Russian's approach and attempted a takedown by flying for his opponent's legs. Yan defended well initially, but then Figueiredo took advantage of the clinch and used his legs to complete the takedown. After two minutes of dominance on the ground, the Brazilian managed to take his opponent's back, but he escaped and finished the round on top, controlling the rest of the time.

In the second round, Yan started with side kicks and knee stomps to maintain distance. In the second half of the round, the Brazilian intensified his takedown attempts and landed strong blows, while Yan maintained control of the distance with precise combinations. In the final seconds, the Russian took down the “God of War”.

In the third round, the Russian maintained his dominance in the standing fight, connecting the best blows and achieving a knockdown in the first half of the round. The Brazilian recovered and returned to the fight standing, but, in the final stretch, he began to show signs of fatigue and received a series of clean blows from the former bantamweight champion.

In the final round, the missions were clear: Petr Yan , leading in points, focused on neutralizing Deiveson's attacks, who sought to finish the fight with decisive blows. Faster and in better physical condition, the Russian landed more strikes and controlled the pace until the end of the fight.

Petr Yan 's victory was declared by a unanimous decision of 50-45 in the view of the three judges.

Aimed at rematch with the champion

In the post-fight interview, Petr Yan celebrated his victory and took the opportunity to challenge the current champion, Merab Dvalishvili , who had previously defeated him.

“Guys, before my fight, Merab said that Deiveson would be the next challenger. Now I ask: 'Merab, what now? I beat the main challenger in the category. I want a rematch. Call me, let's fight!'”, declared Yan.
