On Friday (22), a civil jury in Ireland sentenced Conor McGregor for sexually assaulting a woman in a luxury hotel in Dublin after a party in December 2018. As it is a civil conviction, the decision does not imply criminal consequences, such as prison, but resulted in compensation of 250 thousand euros (around R$ 1,5 million) from the fighter to the victim Nikita Hand.
Nikita Hand accused Conor McGregor raping and brutally beating her on the roof of a hotel, leaving her with severe bruises and post-traumatic stress disorder. During her testimony, the victim revealed that the fighter threatened to kill her while strangling her.

Despite the seriousness of the charges, criminal charges were not brought against Nikita Hand. Although the police investigated the case, prosecutors chose not to file criminal charges, citing insufficient evidence to support a possible conviction.
During the entire process, Conor McGregor denied the charges, claiming that the encounter between him and Nikita Hand was consensual. The fighter appeared before the jury accompanied by his family, including his wife Dee Devlin, his parents, sister and brother-in-law and left the place in a hurry, without answering questions.
