The lion, indeed, is blurry! In a fight of wide dominance, Charles of the Bronx had an impeccable performance to overcome Michael chandler in revenge in UFC 309, an event held this Saturday (16). The Brazilian dominated, suffered a scare at the end and confirmed the victory in the unanimous decision of the judges. The duel was valid for the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg).
With the victory, Charles once again asked to be 'next in line'. He puts himself in a good position to face the winner of Islam makhachev x Arman Tsarukyan, who are expected to face each other in January.

Michael chandler, in turn, suffered another setback against the Brazilian. He, however, once again challenged Conor McGregor and still insists on a victory with the Irish.
Charles from the Bronx puts on a show and beats Michael Chandler again
Charles connected the first blow with a front kick, followed by a stomp on the knee. Do Bronx then went for the takedown, did a leg twist and landed on top, almost fitting into Chandler's leg, who managed a good defense. In a defensive position, the American held on as best he could until the end of the round.
The second round was pressure from Do Bronx, who even did Michael chandler running twice close to the fence. Charles continued to press, but the American landed a good blow, which made the Brazilian feel it. The former champion, however, was smart and took the fight to the ground again, now in the mount. From above, he landed hard elbows and continued to hit his opponent to make him bleed.

Michael chandler resisted! Charles continued marching forward, delivering brutal blows that made the American feel it and reaching his back to close the lock. Hitting from above, the former champion managed to get good submission attempts, but the 'Iron' resisted until the end.
In the fourth round, the synthesis was the same that made Do Bronx superior: dominance, forcefulness and pressure. The strategic Brazilian imposed pressure and took him to the ground. He got to his back, but was unable to finish.
It couldn't be that easy! Charles of the Bronx stepped on the knee and hurt it Michael chandler. The American went all out, landing heavy blows and shaking the Brazilian. He almost knocked him out. However, Charles resisted the pressure, turned his back and held on until the end.
“This guy was one of the toughest I’ve ever faced. He deserves to be here. He deserves all the respect (…) Dana (White), I need to be next. With all the respect in the world. If you’re going to hit, hit hard. Because if you’re not going to hit, I’m going to walk and move forward,” said Charles in a post-fight interview.
