The lion, indeed, is blurry! In a fight of wide dominance, Charles do Bronx had an impeccable performance to overcome Michael Chandler in a rematch at UFC 309 , an event held this Saturday (16). The Brazilian dominated, suffered a scare at the end and confirmed the victory by unanimous decision of the judges. The duel was valid for the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg).
With the victory, Charles reiterated his request to be 'next in line'. He puts himself in a good position to face the winner of Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan , who are scheduled to fight in January.

Michael Chandler , for his part, suffered another setback against the Brazilian. He, however, has once again challenged Conor McGregor and still insists on a victory against the Irishman.

Charles connected the first blow with a front kick, followed by a stomp on the knee. Do Bronx then went for the takedown, did a leg twist and landed on top, almost fitting into Chandler's leg, who managed a good defense. In a defensive position, the American held on as best he could until the end of the round.
The second round was dominated by Do Bronx, who even made Michael Chandler run close to the cage twice. Charles continued to pressure, but the American landed a good punch that made the Brazilian feel it. The former champion, however, was clever and took the fight to the ground again, now landing in mount. On top, he delivered hard elbows and continued striking to make his opponent bleed.

Michael Chandler resisted! Charles continued marching forward, delivering brutal blows that made the American feel it, and got to his back to lock in the submission. Striking from the top, the former champion managed some good submission attempts, but 'Iron' held on until the end.
In the fourth round, the synthesis was the same that made Do Bronx superior: dominance, forcefulness and pressure. The strategic Brazilian imposed pressure and took him to the ground. He got to his back, but was unable to finish.
It couldn't have been that easy! Charles do Bronx stomped on Michael Chandler's knee, injuring him . The American went all out, delivering powerful blows and staggering the Brazilian. He almost knocked him out. However, Charles withstood the pressure, turned his back, and held on until the end.
“This guy was one of the toughest I’ve ever faced. He deserves to be here. He deserves all the respect (…) Dana (White), I need to be next. With all the respect in the world. If you’re going to hit, hit hard. Because if you’re not going to hit, I’m going to walk and move forward,” said Charles in a post-fight interview.
