The rematch between women's boxing legends Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano was highly anticipated. And the crowd at the AT&T Stadium in Texas (USA) on Friday night (15) saw why. The two demonstrated extraordinary determination in the co-main event of the event, which left everyone speechless. And no wonder: At stake were the unified WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF world titles in the super-lightweight division. And the champion, who had put everything on the line, will keep the belts, as she won by unanimous decision of the judges (95-94, 95-94, 95-94).

After the announcement of her victory, despite having beaten Serrano twice, Katie Taylor said she would accept a trilogy against her Puerto Rican rival. The undisputed champion in several categories, she seeks to prove her superiority after a controversial victory over Serrano in 2022. The Irishwoman now has a record of 24 wins and one loss.

With a lot at stake, the two boxers entered the ring at AT&T Stadium with great determination for a 10-round showdown. The champion started with a beautiful right hand that forced Serrano to clinch. But shortly after, she returned fire with a left hook that hit Taylor square in the chin, forcing her to lean against the ropes. It was the announcement of a true battle between the warriors.

The fight became very even, with both women exchanging several punches. In the sixth round, Taylor accidentally headbutted Serrano, who suffered a deep cut on her eyebrow. Even though she was bleeding heavily, Serrano told the doctor that she would continue the fight, after all, there was a lot at stake. The crowd went wild and applauded the Puerto Rican warrior.

In the eighth round, Taylor headbutted Serrano again, which cost her a point that was taken away by the referee. It was her rival's hope for a comeback. Even so, in the judges' decision, the point made little difference and the victory was given to the Irishwoman. However, the applause at AT&T Stadium went to the two 'lionesses', worthy of a gala night.
